I've been keeping an eye on my spend on a pretty much daily basis, and recently I realized that although my resource usage is steady, my dollar spend has been edging up slightly, where the billing tool mentions I'm now spending 10% more than this time last month. Now, the estimates fluctuate quite a lot and the resource counters aren't always updating regularly -- but this was even beyond that.

I'm not sure why there is a spike in demand -- I could understand if this was holiday season, or something like year end, but I'm not sure why there is pressure which is pushing up spot prices in April. Is it rain forecasts? Maybe it's summer retail stuff? Or maybe some cool new AI/ChatGPT startups that are sucking up instances? I'm not sure, but I hope it's just a blip, because this is annoying to be honest.
