I'm reflecting, planning and basking a bit, in an effort to be purposefully better going forward. One thing I want to do is complete the project lifecycle. What I mean by this isn't getting a project functional or good enough, but having it as complete as can be be in this revision. So, this doesn't just mean creating and organizing say log files, but also managing their full path -- move latest to a dated file, keep that as is for a week and then compress. But after that, what? Why not archive them monthly, and put them onto long-term storage after a year? This kind of holistic thinking is what I mean. A colleague said we should be trying to get work to "suck less", and while I embrace the incremental sentiment, I want work to be fun and rewarding.
I can say things are feeling like they are going in a decent direction. I've dug out and gone through most of my notes, and started to go through my learning materials. I'd like to do some new 100DaysOfKubernetes content, and I'm feeling like I have some traction. I feel excited and I feel like I've got a good direction and a decent plan.
Now the hope is that I can do an episode or five, and start to be more regular. And I hope this is all as helpful in some small way to others.
