I think I'm into a flow with content creation. It's definately different than teaching, where you get live feedback when facing a class. But teaching is one and done, where video recordings allow you to see, critique and want to re-do things. Don't get me wrong, reflection is important and key to improving, but I have to be mindful not to focus on re-doing and trying to perfect everything. While my first handful are rough and need some rework, my hope is that as I go forward the process improves and that reflects on the outcome. I also want to acknowledge the difference between flow and routine. I'm on a run now, excited and motivated, and am enjoying what I'm doing. I understand I can use this to build up a bit of a reserve, for when I'm not feeling motivated, so I can have a consistent supply. I'd like to work through the 100 Days in about a year, which is about 2 days a week. It's 8 days per month on average then, and my goal is to keep the days content in the 10 - 15 min range, so it seems reasonable. I think I'll do some longer tutorials or livestreams, but those are going to be more ad-hoc.
Why is routine important? Well, while I'm in the flow here I can easily do a 5 or 6 days within a one week time period. But I know I can hit an unmotivated streach where I don't do anything for at least a few weeks, if not longer. The idea here is if I can do even one day during each week, then I can still stay on track overall and hopefully get back into inspiration sooner. Being motivated is helpful; I actually have lots of things I would like to do, but it can be hard to focus and pick only one or two.
Back to the flow for a bit, I've had some good traction. After doing a single content day a month ago, I've been containering out the ears lately. I've got a handful of rough days up on YT. I've gotten this project which hasn't been loved in a couple years fired up, and I've learned a lot of Kuberernetes in the process. I've planned another handful of days, and I've done a bunch of research and some setup for content related stuff, like thumbnails and intros and editing. I even added some links into the descriptions of my uploads. I'm even thinking about hacking a k8s distro together just to learn. Hey, msybe I should record it and use it as content -- maybe. Lots of ideas and brainspace to go forward. Just have to keep the momentum.
