I did one of these a couple years back, and there has been so many changes but so much learning. I feel like things are going faster sometimes, and it's hard to keep up, but then sometimes I feel like I've got everything falling into place just like how I'd want.
So, I'm not sure I've done everything I've wanted, or even come close -- but I've now got some plans and some concrete actions to make those plans come to a goal, and not just cool ideas in my head which are not actionable.
I also think I've become more circumspect in some things -- I realize that sometimes plans don't hold together for a project, and I have to regroup. Sometimes a thing will take longer, but often a weird problem will come up. Before I'd obsess about it, but I think I've been better at either working around or even parking the issue and coming back with fresh eyes.
This felt like a "down" year in contributions and output to my personal projects, but overall I felt fairly good -- I relaxed, did non-computer things and enjoyed a rest here and there. That said, I'm excited for the new year and to see where things head.
Happy New Years to all!
