Ah, Hello old DOS tools my old friend. I've been cleaning some stuff up and I came across this box, and I think I'll do a short video on it to explain why you'd even want something like this.
It's hard to remember a time when you didn't have a recycle bin or trash can where you'd put your files for a bit when you wanted to get rid of them, but then again when was the last time anyone cared about hundreds of kilobytes of space, either? This was pre graphical operating systems, when your machine would great you with a simple command prompt.
Packages like PC Tools or Norton Commander allowed you to quickly and easily organise, transfer, back up and restore or recover from many mishsps. Also important on slower and older spinning drives was defragmenting, where a file that was spread into various spots all over the disk was assembled into one contiguous block to make access quicker and easier for the OS.
Theses tools would mostly be folded into tge OS as time went on, but in their day they were critical to having a system that was healthy and fuctional.
