Touching base with the community

So, I attended my local AWS summit, and overall I had an enjoyable time. This is my second summit, and I had much better understanding and expectations this time, even though the flow was very different. Last year was over two days, where this year felt rushed and only over a single day. I'll go into more detail in a followup post, but if you can attend one of the summits, I'd recommend it.

After getting involved with cloud and AWS in a much more direct way a few years back, I started to look for some user or cloud tech groups. Honestly most of them had gone quiet during the pandemic, so I gave up a bit on them. But they was a "user group" session on the summit agenda, so I penciled that in. There wewe only a half dozen or so people there, but it included two different AWS user groups, and much excitement. I think its always great to touch base, network, learn how others do or approach things, and swap war stories. It was definately energizing, and I'm hoping to attend and even present in the near future.

This has also inspired me to try to be more proactive on the general cloud side, so I might do some more stuff here for that as well.
