I've got two shiny new Raspberry Pi 4s, and I want to install a version of Kubernetes onto it. Easy, right? Umm, not so fast. I have lots of USB power adapters, but the Pi needs a USB-C, and most of mine are not that. I do have a couple genuine Pi power warts, but I have to think of a solution where I don't need to steal stuff from other projects. Also, I totally forgot that Pi4 needs some kind of fan or a heat sink, so I didn't order any (boo me). I'm not sure how they will be eventually mounted, but for right now I think I'll just use a sizeable fan and keep a watch on the temp stuff. What I didn't forget was that I have no way of mounting these to anything, so right now they'll be strewn across whatever jury-rigged system I'll put together. I think a good end state would be to have a distributed airflow happening, and having the Pi4s on their side ... but that will take a bit of experimentation. I've been looking at the rig that Alex Ellis is using, and I think that is overkill for what I'm doing right now, but it looks nice. I'll have to check that out, as well as some of the other "Pi cluster rigs" that are around.
